Travel to Roma

The first 36 hours were tough. 27 hours of flight time in the air, 8 hours waiting at airports.  Virtually no sleep!!!WOW!!! It was great to arrive and be greeted at our hotel by Rosy who had made the journey the day before.  The shower was much needed and so was the 6 hours of sleep before we hit the streets of Roma at 7.00am.

We didn't look much like this 30 hours later I'll tell you. Despite Air NZ's efforts and hospitality.  They were great.  The flight attendants befriended us (in particular) and we had some great conversations about Rome and Italy and what to do and NOT to do.  Pick-Pockets are a major problem in Roma and Rosy had her wallet stolen from her bag while at the Metro (underground rail).  300 euros, credit cards and cash pasport GONE!!!  But all is well now.  Within 24 hours new cash and credit cards arranged over the phone, and it's ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!

The road over Rosy's left shoulder is where we're staying.  Temperatures are hot and humid.  LIFE IS GREAT. It's 10pm on Friday and we're off to have a meal at the piattza beside the fountains.  CIAO.
